The past couple days has been spent working on some gift packaging for a Polish vodka company. They were looking for a few different directions and one involved flourishes…you know what that means. Time to get out the pencils and paper. I wish I could show more, but we have to keep this one under wraps for a little bit.

I really dig your work with type and fonts. I was just curious as to what your creative precess is as far as getting the hand drawn font to the computer. Are they scanned and traced in illustrator with the pen tool, or live traced?

Hey Kerrianne, thanks a lot! I think I’ll do a post this week about the process we use to create our type. Basically it’s hand drawn, live-traced in Illustrator, then altered (and sometimes traced again with the pen tool), and then we’re finall finished with the lettering process.
